Written diarrhoea. Aah. What a wonderful thing to have. It consumes you within and makes you take it out on the paper. It thankfully makes you blurt out words at an unthinkable magnitude; it needs no medicine and is in fact the cure for all. It unearths within you such a fury which cannot be quelled, a hunger which cannot be met, a thirst which cannot be satiated. Waking up to the dulcet tones of Simon and Garfunkel, thinking of what to write next is what I dream of. Writing cuts across eco, social, political boundaries; it is that, which frees us from our otherwise mundane lives, that which places us in the elite category of the literati.
You can write about politics-the trust vote, the impeachment of musharraf, the nuclear deal. You can write about the economy-the stock market, the inflation, the oil and gold price. You can write endlessly about the society- hypocritical democracy, hypocritical society, corruption and the lot. The best thing is that you have a creative license, nobody to stop you, your thoughts are free and so are your writings. You do not have to fear licentious comments on your writing, all you get is unbridled enthusiastic criticism which is in many cases pleasing more so than praise. Unbiased view, without caring whose toes you step on are what many journalists dream of, but few manage to achieve it. There is always scope to improve and it is one of the few things which is so satisfying in itself. The innocuous ramblings, the insouciant commentary, the uplifting words, the deflating comments are all what writing is about.
Writing requires no religion, no caste, no creed, no purpose; all it requires is the love of writing which lies in us all, more so apparent in some, than others.
I would like to conclude by stating a modified adage-
THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD AND I SHALL PROVE IT
